Kitchen “oak and marble”

Amsterdam

In this bespoke kitchen in Amsterdam in the area between Vondelpark and Rijksmuseum we have designed a nice kitchen for this expat couple used cabinets resembling wall panelling and using natural materials like oak. The house is downstairs in a pretty and old housing complex. The house features original elements like marble flooring and nice paneldoors.

Combining beautiful colour of painted cabinetry in eggshells colour by Farrow & Ball and warmth of wood, we really wanted to capture the character & charm of this Dutch living space. On the island, we have used solid oak finished with monocoat oil. The island showcases the downdraft and induction plate covered in a beautiful, 3-metre slab in a natural Carrara marble top. In this project, we have also used a unique, gourmet 90cm wide built in oven and smart hidden storage for the bar area. The good thing about a downdraft in this kitchen design is that the sight and view line from the front side of the house to the backside-garden remains an open line.
